Boosting students' Social Skills!
I believe it is all about providing different behavioural alternatives for children to deal with their peers in the school. Encouraging the students to adjust or change the targeted behaviour inside the class should always be creative in a way that you deal equally with them. Besides, recognising students' achievements and focus the light on their right choices is one of the best strategies to build a healthy school environment and a great tool to enhance their development stage.
On the other hand, using these tools support all my previous efforts to build and enhance the Social Skills of my students whether in the class or playground. Grade 3 corridor - School Year 2019-2020I believe that we have to develop our methods in parallel with students developing stages and keep in mind that they are a different generation which is entirely different from ours.
Make it simple and straight ward with more concentrating on the visual side. Term 2 decoration - School Year 2018-2019My students will back to school after the term one holiday. They'll fill the corridor with much love, fun, hopes, and many challenging cases for me as well 😅 I prepared the corridor and decorated it in a way I can support my pedagogic and psychologic plans.

'King of the corridor!' Project - School Year 2018-2019I believe simple ideas are more powerful and efficient. And when you work with children, you cannot be an external observer. Before two weeks, I arranged a competition with my Grade 4 students. For each day end with a specific number of infractions in the Discipline Sheet (A great tool in SABIS system), they will win a star. It doesn't matter how many days it took to gain the star as long as they are working as a team and encourage each other to reduce the written infractions like forgetting to bring the copybook or talking during the class. The response of the students was unexpected! The power of the group was extremely active on some challenging behavioural students inside the class.
Student Request for Students Supervisor
An interesting concept of consulting with the student. The core idea is focusing on training and teaching the children of Grade 3 how to apply their social skills to solve any conflict and be dependable to face any trouble they could make or fell in.
The project ended with significant results as the number of students' requests dropped dramatically and most of them call me only for serious cases or when they cannot reach an agreement. To get editable copy of this request application, please click here. student weekly report
With some special cases of challenging behaviour, it needs more close and daily follows up. The Weekly Student Report develops the concept of "stars rewards" to be a daily counselling with the student and discussing how much he/she met the agreeable statements before.

Prefects
Meeting with Grade 3 Prefects - School Year 2019-2020Nothing is impossible with students between the age of 7 and 8!
Once you believe in their abilities and give them an unlimited trust but with an eye of a coordinator, not monitor. Then sit and witness the miracles! I make sure to establish a healthy relationship between the Prefects and the other students. Having a quiet class and enjoyable playing time during the breaks are all of our responsibility. Training Grade 4 students as Prefects - School Year 2018-2019Training the students to be leaders and active school citizen is what means to be a part of SLO (Students Life Organisation) as a prefect.
The age of my students doesn't limit them to take the challenge and be responsible for different roles like Indoor Prefect, Discipline Prefect, and Cleanness Prefect. Please visit the school Facebook page to meet my best prefects ever! https://www.facebook.com/659869017520827/posts/1051796728328052/ My previous Super-Prefects in Grade 3 - School Year 2018-2019Students in grade 4 were awarded certificates for their amazing to the SLO contribution last year. They helped their peers, teachers and and supervisor during their free time. Well done! Keep up the good work this year!
My SLO superheroes; Faris, Issa, Omar, Sam, Maya, Maisan, Layan, Ahmad A., Amad L., Rital, Salim, Hamza, Maryam B., Isam, Mahmoud, Nibras, Maryam H., Johan, Masy, and Amir, I am so proud to continue their journey together in grade 4. By their contribution and enthusiastic, they helped me to make the school a beautiful place to study, play and grow along with the other fellows. The photos are published also on the official school facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/isc.muscat.oman/posts/1034740453367013 One Team Project
One Team Project - School Year 2018-2019Instead of reminding my students about the basic rules of the class and playground, I involve them to practice it and enjoy turning it as a daily habit.
My favourite thing is...
'My favourite thing is...' Project and End of Term 1 decoration - School Year 2018-2019As a part of Term 1 project, I asked my students a simple question: 'My favourite thing is...', and except the usual answers such as their best friend name, Art class, or PE class, some of them surprise me how much they love to study in the school and happy to be their Supervisor. Also, my students and I finished decorating our corridor by their handmade decoration as a kind of celebration to achieve high commitment to class and playground rules during term 1.
Arabic Culture Day
Arabic Culture Day - School Year 2018-2019A significant success out of my role as Student Supervisor!
In cooperation with my colleague, Mr Hafnaoui Snoussi, we participated in the Arabic culture day which organised by our school for the first time. My awesome students expressed how much we love and adore the Arabic language by performing a short play and later sang a song. I'm incredibly proud of my smart non-Arab students; Sehar, Aysel, Hamza, Ehab, Areeb, Moeez, Bibars, and Theodore. The experience in itself made enhanced my confident about my ability to train and organise activities for children. Art Workshops
'Our classroom rules' Art Workshop - School Year 2017-2018In purpose of turning class and school rules to habits and committing to these rules is based on solid and full understanding, I asked my students to draw it!
The Art teachers were so excited to be part of this project which will reflect on their classes in indirect way positively. The project was started with two classes of 3rd grade and ended with the rest six classes during the following week. |
